Adnams Southwold Copper House Dry Gin 70cl

Their best-selling gin is made from grain to glass in Southwold using the finest East Anglian malted barley and just six carefully selected botanicals. Nothing else is added, apart from their passion for the craft. In their brewery, they create a wash of 100% malted barley, which is distilled to a vodka of exceptional purity. Their barley vodka base is essentially the botanical they don’t talk about. It contributes so much to the texture and mouthfeel that its role in the quality of our gins shouldn’t be underestimated.

They then use the ‘London Dry’ method to produce their gin. This means their base must be a neutral grain spirit, they can only use natural botanicals, and nothing can be added after distillation. They dilute their vodka and steep the botanicals overnight, as some flavours are extracted by alcohol and others by water. They allow things to macerate for around 15 hours, to release their amazing flavours, before redistilling into their fruity and floral Copper House Dry Gin.
